Ofsted social care annual report 2012/13

Last week Ofsted released their first annual social care report. Michael Wilshaw, chief inspector of schools and social care, controversially commented on one part of the publication stating that “hollowed out and fragmented families” were partly responsible for social breakdown due to a “poverty of accountability” 

The Ofsted report also examined the prevalence of abuse and neglect, the success of looked after children and the performance of local authorities and residential care. The full document can be viewed here
