Do we want our laptops to know when we’re in a bad mood?

Scientists are working on computers that have the capability to recognise the emotions of the user. Previous versions have used voice recognition technology but a US company have now developed software that senses human emotions by analysing faces through live video. Rhodri Marsden humorously discusses the implications of having computers that can detect our feelings and suggests that the function is probably of more use to marketing companies than the average person.
