I wrote the Anarchist Cookbook in 1969. Now I see its premise as flawed.

Over 40 years ago William Powell wrote the Anarchist Cookbook in order to protest against America’s involvement in the Vietnam war.

The book contains instructions on how to manufacture explosives and illicit drugs at home. Powell has come to regret the publication of the book and is now calling for it to be removed from print. In this piece he explains that he now believes that it’s easy to be angry – but to be angry with the right person, at the right time, to the right degree is hard.
