How schools could deliver transformational change and put equity at the heart of education

This report by Brian Boyd, former secondary teacher and current professor of education at the University of Strathclyde, examines the role of schooling in creating a civilised society.

The paper assesses present schooling in Scotland at early years, primary and secondary level - as well as additional support needs provision and lifelong learning. In the piece Brian suggests that we could improve our education system by adopting a Nordic-style model. For those who prefer listening to reading, Brian presents many of the ideas contained in the document in this video of a recent talk at the Glad Café in Glasgow.
