In Finland maternity packages (containing items like bedding, clothing and books) or grants are available to all pregnant women – with 95% opting to take the packs rather than the money. 

A professor at the University of Helsinki commented that the boxes are a symbol of equality and the importance of children. This is a signal that Finland has a commitment to ensuring the well-being of all children in the country.
