Failed by the NHS

In this documentary Johnny Benjamin, who has schizoaffective disorder, investigates why many young people with mental illness are failing to get the right treatment from the NHS.

He focuses on three main areas – problems with GPs, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and accident and emergency and highlights the worrying figure that only half of all people who attend A&E due to self-harm receive a psychiatric assessment. A thought provoking programme that hears directly from young people about their experiences.

Available to view on iplayer until Tuesday 13thAugust.
