Why I blew the whistle on ATOS fit for work interviews

Doctor Greg Wood came to public attention when he gave evidence to the BBC that suggested Employment Support Allowance (the benefit that has replaced incapacity benefit) work capability assessments undertaken by private company ATOS were “skewed against the complainant”.

In this article he describes how as an ATOS employee he was asked to change medical reports to reduce the number of points given to claimants – something the General Medical Council have stated is a disciplinary offence. He concludes that getting private companies to perform sensitive tasks like these assessments is inherently risky.
