Raising an obese child isn’t child abuse – and blaming parents won’t solve the problem

In this opinion piece columnist Natasha Devon comments on a television debate where it was suggested that childhood obesity is always child abuse.

She thinks that we are now living in a society where we are unable to grasp that parents are human and suggests that training parents how to deal with the underlying reasons children are demanding food is far more useful in tackling obesity than giving parents diet plans for their child.
