Rewild the child

In this piece George Monbiot makes a case for outdoor education. Research has found that children who spend time learning in natural environments perform better in reading, mathematics, science and social studies when they return to class.

Monibot describes spending time with adventure learning charity Wide Horizons and concludes that we currently reward only a narrow set of skills - whereas including outdoor education in the curriculum would provide necessary and diverse learning experiences for children.
